The Solstice is the darkest point of the year, when light begins it’s path of reemerging. This year it falls on December 21st.

Join us on December 23 for extended Evening CHILL practice with Elizabeth. It will be a celebration of light and the rebirth of the sun, as well as our own rebirth, a time of letting go. We will create sacred space, still the mind and move toward inner peace.

The first 15 min of class will focus on a creative sun salutation series that will take you around your mat, creating inner light on the shortest day of the year. After igniting our creative energy we will take some time to tap into that creative energy. You can draw, do calligraphy, paint or pick whatever creative activity speaks to you. Then on the back of whatever you create, write yourself a letter. Let this be a time to reflect on the year and write a letter to yourself focusing on what you hope for the future. We will seal our letters and open them on the Summer Solstice. At the end of class, we will take some time for Yoga Nidra. This practice helps prepare the mind for rest and sleep by slowing down the brain through guided relaxation allowing you to fins some time to slow down. Drinking tea, cocoa, or anything else that bring you joy is encouraged!

Ideas for art materials: colored pencils, crayons, markers, watercolor, pens, and a sheet or two of paper.
