We will go through different drums, techniques and rhythms.
For hundreds of years, the drum has been a magical and alluring instrument.
The deep sound of the drum moves the human body and can evoke everything from a calm feeling to wild trance.
Visiting from Denmark, Jacob Lund has many years of experience as a professional drummer and percussionist. He has travelled across the world preforming with different bands, such as Virelai, Heilung, Huldre, Asynje and more.
Through this workshop, we will work with age-old rhythms, viking, medieval, eastern and folk styles. We will learn about frame drumming and davul (a large drum with skin on both sides), playing with hands, fingers and sticks. Students are welcome to bring their own drum, but there are also some of Jacob’s drums available for use. Please let us know if you intend to bring one of your own: jacobheelund@gmail.com.
To elevate our experience and truly embody ancient rhythms into deeper layers of our subconscious mind, we’ll shift into a full sound bath, aligning with the transformative vibrations of Janelle’s singing bowl and gong orchestration. Drawing from her devotion to the practice of Seiðr High Seat, Norse Shamanism, Pantheism, and Animism, Janelle will weave her mystical Wyrd together. She will generate frequency using energy for the purpose of transformation while she initiates you into the Nine Realms of the Norse, its mysticism, elementals of Scandinavian lineage, and folklore. Guests are bathed in powerful vibrations and binaural beats that help entrain their brain waves into Theta. In this deeply relaxed state dynamic healing can take place, which activates the parasympathetic nervous system, cellular regeneration, stress release, as well as, emotional, mental and physical healing. The intention for this offering is to help support your return to your Authentic Self.

Janelle Leonard is a Sound Healer, trained Opera Singer & Violist, Völva, Norse Shamanism Seiðr Practitioner, Norse Pagan, Tibetan Buddhist, Reiki Master, Quantum Healer, SOMA Neuromuscular Integration®, and CranioSacral Practitioner. She has over 22 years of experience in her field of study and professional interests and is based out of Seattle.
