Consider this: 50% of us will experience menopause. Who’s talking about it? More of us, thank goodness! While the average age for menopause in the United States is 52 years, perimenopause symptoms can start as early as your mid-30s, and can last more than 10 years! And the transition involves way more than hot flashes! “Effects can also include changes to your period, mood, sleep, digestion, and more (…like 90+ more!).
So, how much do you really know about “the change”? Do you feel confident talking to your providers about it, even if they don’t seem to know much? Do you have a good support system and access to reliable resources?
If you’re curious, co-hosts Vanessa Weiland and Nicole Bratt are putting together a chill evening of community, education, fun, and support to help you learn more about this phase of life and feel more prepared to navigate it.
We’ll be showing the film ‘The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause’, and afterward, we’ll have a laid-back, topical conversation and Q&A.
Light refreshments will be provided, and everyone gets a goodie bag with samples and treats to take home!
“Menopause remains one of the last taboos in our permissive, talk-about-everything pop culture. Even though every woman will go through some form of this chemical “reordering,” menopause is still regarded as a condition or a disease… It’s time to create a society in which all women feel prepared for and supported in their journeys to and through menopause.”
