Step into the flow at Datza Studios for a fun and soulful 90-minute journey through Surya Namaskaras (Sun Salutations)! This hands-on, playful workshop begins by soaking in the ancient history and wisdom behind these sacred movements, sprinkled with a dash of yoga philosophy to feed the mind. After a gentle warm-up to get the body moving and the breath flowing, we’ll break down Surya Namaskaras A, B, and other variations – focusing on proper form, breathing with intention, and offering modifications for all levels.

Whether you’re a Sun Salutation newbie or a seasoned pro, we’ll work together to find the sweet spot where technique meets grace. The workshop will finish with a calming cool-down and a blissful Savasana.

Instructor

Kandace Sylvester

Kandace's yoga journey began as a teenager and has since evolved into a deep personal and professional practice. In 2022, she completed her 200-hour Rasa Yoga Teacher Training with Greta Hill, which emphasized yoga philosophy, mantras, mudras, and pranayama—referred to as "the alchemy of yoga." She further honed her teaching through a 50-hour mentorship with Greta Hill and Chelsea Murphy at Pranify Yoga, focusing on cueing, alignment, theming, and adjustments. Kandace also assisted in an adjustment workshop for teachers in 2024 and continued her growth as a teacher assistant in the 200-hour Rasa Yoga Teacher Training. Committed to continual learning, Kandace will deepen her expertise in early 2025 with advanced training in both Pranayama and Yin Yoga. Her teaching is rooted in authenticity, self-love, and empowerment, with the goal of creating spaces where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow both on and off the mat.
